Some of our competitors' that claim to possess aquatic physical therapy!
Not sure what training they have had. I do know that we possess the only ATRI certified PT's in the triangle area.
We have found that at many times you will be in the pool with 4 or 5 other people and probably 1 or 2 staff, minimizing your care.
A pool that is anywhere between 78 & 86 degrees. That is cold and 14 to 6 degrees below what the Aquatic Therapy & Rehabilitation Institute suggests.
No viewing window and therefore staff have to try to see what you are doing through the turbulence of the water and refraction of light, which is impossible to do. Therefore, they really don't know how you're progressing.
Very rarely will they have a chair lift.
Minimal equipment and I can pretty much guaranty you that they won't have a hydraulic treadmill.
You are lucky if they have a whirl pool!
You will most likely perform in just an average pool with lower than required temperature and when you get out, it will be a cold room where you will experience muscle guarding.
Pretty easy to figure out who has true Aquatic Physical Therapy!
